Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounting Supervisor to join our dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong foundation in public accounting or experience in the energy, utilities, or industrial sector, and proven success in managing ERP-driven accounting operations (Oracle, NetSuite, or similar). The Accounting Supervisor will oversee general ledger functions, support month-end close, ensure compliance with US GAAP, and mentor a small team of accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
- Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals to maintain data integrity
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reports
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and internal controls (SOX, if applicable)
- Partner with internal teams and external auditors during financial and operational audits
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency
- Leverage ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) to optimize workflows and reporting capabilities
- Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to junior staff accountants
- Support special projects such as system implementations, M&A integration, and budget forecasting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA a plus)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) or energy/industrial sector preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and month-end close processes
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
- Experience with audit preparation, variance analysis, and financial reporting
