Position: Building Attendant
Location: Saratoga Springs, NY
Hours: Variable Schedule – 2nd Shift
Pay: $20-22/hour based on experience
Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Attendant to maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality in a mixed-use residential, retail, and restaurant property in Saratoga Springs, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring both the living, common area, and dining spaces are kept to a high standard, are consistently well-maintained, clean, and welcoming for residents, guests, and patrons. The Building Attendant will be tasked with supporting the smooth operation of assigned buildings, and act as a liaison between management teams, vendors, guests, and residents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of common and residential areas (hallways, lobbies, elevators, stairwells, rest rooms, apartments).
- Maintain task checklists provided by service foreman
- Light concierge tasks as needed
- Maintain positive attitude, support resident and guest relations
- Monitor and report maintenance issues (e.g., lighting, plumbing, HVAC).
- Respond to resident service requests and assist with minor repairs.
- Manage trash and recycling collection from designated areas.
- Ensure secure access to the building; monitor visitor entry as needed.
- Act as liaison between management teams and building guests
- Assist with supply stocking.
- Understand the gold standard and identify/remedy deficiencies
- Support during health inspections or emergencies (e.g., spills, minor maintenance).
- Coordinate repairs and communicate with vendors as necessary
- Other tasks in support of overall operational excellence of the building, as identified by supervising staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in custodial, building maintenance, or hospitality preferred.
- Must maintain clean and professional appearance at all times.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs, and must demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
