Full job description
Medical device manufacturer, located outside Boston is seeking a Buyer/Planner. This is an onsite position required for sourcing components and planning activities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Sourcing of assigned production and prototype materials that may include mechanical parts, assemblies, and other sub-contracted assemblies.
  • Sourcing of assigned nonproduction supplies and services.
  • Daily release of PO’s and follow up as required for production items, non-production supplies, and capital expenditures.
  • Manage supplier relationship including strategic selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance evaluations.
  • Problem solving as required for assigned commodities as it relates to cost, quality, and delivery that affect internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Initiate and support cross-functional project management initiatives to improve supply chain performance metrics and customer satisfaction.
  • Keep abreast of market conditions and how they affect the components purchased.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred.
  • 5 years purchasing or planning out of manufacturing/medical devices/metal preferred
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills.
  • Effective problem solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate critical information across cross-functional departments.
  • Organized, analytical, and detail orientated person willing to accept challenges.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • CPIM or APICS or CSCP certification preferred.
