SEEKING A STRATEGIC BUYER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a detail-oriented BUYER or SENIOR BUYER with the energy and the courage to help us grow our business. The right candidate will be solution oriented in taking on the volatile challenges with the current supply chain. This position is on-site and located in Morris, CT.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 3 to 5 years of Purchasing experience in a fast paced, informal environment.
- Electronics industry experience preferred, but not required.
- High level of initiative, organization, accuracy, and judgement.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in Excel and be able to streamline current processes.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Ability to build professional relationships with a varied number of team members.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and develop sources of supplies.
- Prepare bid specifications and issue bid requests.
- Review quotations and assess supplier suitability.
- Negotiate prices, issue purchase orders and maintain accurate delivery dates in our ERP system.
- Work closely with Materials Planning to schedule incoming materials for production.
- Manage component material purchase orders to ensure on time deliveries.
- Expedite orders that delay or alter schedules.
