Key Responsibilities:

I. Leadership

  • Lead, empower, and manage accounting, finance, IT, and facilities teams to maximize productivity and enhance individual contributions, professional development, and job satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and Finance Committee to ensure oversight of financial decisions, cash management, and investment policies.
  • Serve as a key member of the Steering Leadership team, playing a central role in guiding the overall management, strategy, and union relations.
  • Develop and implement business and fiscal policies to safeguard assets, ensure compliance, and support financial management with strong internal controls.
  • Leverage technology and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

II. Accounting

  • Partner with the Controller to ensure timely and accurate financial operations, including the monthly close and required reporting (e.g. annual audit, UFR, 990).
  • Monitor compliance with accounting requirements and maintain effective internal audit procedures.

III. Finance

  • Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process and the provision of regular forecasts and budget-to-actual reports to support informed decision-making.
  • With the Director of Finance and Administration, enhance financial analysis, scenario planning, program profitability assessments, and cash flow projections.
  • Work collaboratively with Program staff to encourage sound fiscal practices and decision making.
  • Manage cash flow planning, capital budgeting, and long-term financial strategy.

IV. 3rd Party Insurance Billing

  • Partner with the Director of Revenue Cycle Management to ensure effective insurance billing, claims processing, copayment invoicing, collections, and receivables monitoring.

V. Revenue Contracts

  • Ensure effective management of 50+ revenue contracts, primarily with EOHHS of the State of MA, including negotiation, procurement, documentation, and amendments, compliance, and billing.

VI. Information Technology

  • Oversee financial systems, hardware and software management.
  • Ensure systems are effective, integrated, optimized.
  • Identify and implement technology-driven solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

VII. Facilities

  • Oversee maintenance, construction projects, capital improvements, and vehicle fleet management for two office locations and approximately 25 group homes.

REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred; at least 5 years in a relevant senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance with a proven ability to manage a complex organization’s accounting, finance, and administrative functions.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting with a successful track record of setting priorities, thinking analytically, solving problems, and making sound decisions.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, including government contracts, grants, and third-party billing. Working knowledge of DDS/EOHHS contract processes and billing procedures preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technology savvy, with experience overseeing technology staff; an understanding of the impact of technology and automation on performance and efficiency; and a track record of leveraging technology to create efficiency.
