Client Services Litigation Paralegal

Position Overview: An innovative senior professional is sought to provide legal support for Case Evaluation and Client Development Teams within a plaintiffs’ securities litigation firm. The ideal candidate will have an interest in broadening their scope beyond traditional paralegal duties, engaging in research on international actions, composing client communications, and organizing essential documentation for litigation participation. Candidates should possess a minimum of five years’ experience in civil or commercial litigation as a paralegal, demonstrate strong research capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, self-motivation, enthusiasm for challenging projects, and adaptability in managing evolving priorities. Familiarity with the PSLRA, stock market operations, trading, finance, and SEC filings is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities for the role of Client Services Paralegal include:

  • Proofreading client reports
  • Drafting initial versions of case updates for clients based on attorney-provided materials
  • Maintaining group task and deadline calendars
  • Updating charts and an internal program to monitor client involvement and case status
  • Aiding in compiling and customizing materials for client involvement in cases
  • Supporting business development attorneys in evaluating potential institutional clients and preparing client presentations by compiling client data and litigation involvement records
  • Assisting team attorneys in researching potential and active cases using various sources including the internet, SEC-EDGAR filings, ThomsonOne, and Westlaw/Lexis to gather required information promptly and succinctly.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a civil or commercial litigation paralegal
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw or Lexis, PACER, and other legal/business resources like Bloomberg Law, Refinitiv, and S&P Global
  • Strong cite-checking and bluebooking skills
  • Excellent proofreading abilities
  • Self-motivated and adept problem solver
  • Exceptional communication skills capable of managing multiple requests
  • Proficiency in internet research and office software including Word, Excel, Access, Adobe
  • Willingness to work overtime regularly
  • Background in finance or a general understanding of financial investments and securities litigation is advantageous.
