Commercial Lines Account Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide an outstanding customer experience to clients and prospects

  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with digital technology offerings

  • Proficient with mobile smart phones and downloading applications, including texting, email, and application management

  • Proficient utilizing desktop applications such as MS Office (Excel, Word, Exchange)

  • Proficient utilizing the Internet (mobile and desktop) to search and locate information

  • Embrace new and emerging technologies to support operations and customers through flexibility and adaptability

  • Contribute to agency growth by upgrading, rounding, cross-selling, and maintaining existing business consistent with agency standards

  • Provide above-average quality service and assistance to all new and existing clients

  • Follow standardized operating procedures for renewals, ongoing service, and new business submissions

  • Identify markets that will support new business placements

  • Place insurance contracts with carriers following consultation with producers, including use of online rating systems

  • Provide quotes to new clients as needed

  • Review and process insurance policies for accuracy

  • Maintain strong attention to detail to minimize errors and omissions in account service

  • Expand existing accounts to round out coverage for maximum income potential, following up on renewal recommendations

  • Participate in weekly department meetings to review new business, lost business, renewals at risk, carrier or client issues, and pipeline status of insurance quotes and prospects

  • Demonstrate compliance with banking and insurance laws and regulations as defined in company policies and procedures

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

  • Take on additional responsibilities as requested

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Property & Casualty License required

  • Must have experience with Word, Excel, and rating programs

  • Experience using advanced agency management systems required (EPIC preferred)

  • Ability to work on complex insurance issues, including designing total insurance programs based on risk analysis

  • Bond knowledge is an asset

  • Property & Casualty License required

  • Valid Driver’s License
