Commercial Loan Administrator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Responsible for administrative support to the Department Head, Business Development Officers, and Commercial Loan Officers in all phases of processing, closing, and annual reviews of Commercial and Member Business Loans.
  • Responsible for reviewing the loan approval for completion of all due diligence, pre closing conditions, collateral and guarantor requirements and ensure the OFAC checks have been completed on borrowers, guarantors and authorized signors.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding new Commercial and Member Business Loans in process, and portfolio loans including requests for annual financials requested. 
  • Track and request appraisals, environmental reports, construction inspections, and legal work.
  • Set up Borrowers in Sageworks and maintain electronic file for loans.
  • Prepares commitment letters and legal documentation in accordance with loan approval terms and conditions.
  • Performs additional duties such as ensuring proper credit approval has been received prior to funding a loan and verifies Member requests for advances on lines of credit prior to loan servicing processing request.  
  • Coordinate loan closing by communicating with the Attorney and/or loan officer; prepares necessary loan documentation for new loan requests or modifications to existing loans, ensuring adherence to required loan terms and conditions.
  • Work in conjunction with closing attorneys, various vendors and members to aid in closing process.
  • Prepares general ledger block entries for processing by loan servicing on loan closings and/or by request as received from Members to draw funds from existing lines of credit loans or any other transaction requests from borrowers.
  • Completes a wide variety of tasks including workflows, ticklers, internal loan reports, loan correspondence, internal memorandums, forms, and general ledger reports. Prepares correspondence and reports as needed. Including annual review tracking report, 0–29-day loan delinquency reports, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all commercial and member business products and services within the credit union including Small Business Administration (SBA) products and guidelines.
  • Provide friendly, accurate, professional service to members and associates by responding to messages and correspondence within 24 hours. Meet crucial deadlines requested.
  • Maintain the loan pipeline on a weekly basis; Work with credit analyst or third-party vendor to ensure loans are reviewed and decision in a timely manner.
  • Meet or exceed the minimum established individual goals each month.
  • Maintains current knowledge of loan policy, lending regulations and commercial credit standards.  Must comply with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to with all applicable federal and state regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending laws (Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Housing Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Community Reinvestment Act) OFAC, Regulation O and the Flood Disaster Protection Act. 
  • Demonstrates continual learning by attending industry seminars, webinars, and other training programs. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Plan and organize workload with appropriate priorities.
  • Must be flexible for work scheduling as required.

  • Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Multi-tasking Skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Available to work varying hours and overtime if needed.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of Small Business Administration 7A, Express and/or 504 loan programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill, as well as math skills
  • Experience working with bank core systems.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial loan policies, compliance, and loan operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Effective organizational and customer service skills. 
  • Must possess at least intermediate technology skills, including knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.
