Compliance Specialist

Established owner, manager, developer, is currently seeking a Residential LIHTC Re-Certification and Project Based Section 8 Compliance Specialist. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for preparing and reviewing income certifications and recertification’s and maintaining database information required for compliance and management purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain optimum level of occupancy through wait list management.
  • Process timely and accurate move-ins, move-outs, and recertifications.
  • Initial, Annual, and interim recertifications in compliance with management guidelines, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal program regulations relating to the property.
  • Prepare or oversee preparation for audits and inspections.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Housing Assistance payments (HAP), manage Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System (TRAC’s), review Tenant Income Certification (TIC).
  • Processing and reviewing EIV reports/corrections, repayment agreements.
  • Work with management compliance department to investigate/resolve TRACS errors.
  • Review monthly and quarterly reports and address discrepancies.
  • Annual HPD e- rent roll submission
  • Complete the annual utility analysis for submission with the Rent Schedule to HUD
  • Complete compliance reports and any other periodic reports required by the property’s programs.
  • Compliance review for HDC/HPD/HCR approval
  • Responsible for ensuring that all tax credit units adhere to the regulatory agreements.
  • All data entry in management software relating to leases, invoices, and recertification files.
  • Annual Reporting to City and State agencies
  • Prepare and submit subsidy packages and documents

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of Section 8 multi-family property management experience
  • Accredited Low-income Housing Tax Credit and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Minimum of 3 year of related experience with HUD Project Based Section 8
  • Proficient in Microsoft and experience with property management software (Yardi)
  • Tax Credit Certification

 

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
