Work Schedule: Monday – Friday/ 8:00am – 5:00pm (on-site)
Location: Syracuse, NY 

Salary Range: $120K – $150K

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

  • Financial reporting
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations
    • Present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and trends
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department leads
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
    • Forecast financial trends and outcomes to support decision making
  • Accounting Operations
    • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions that supports robust departmental and account profitability reporting
    • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations and reporting
    • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to safeguard assets and maintain financial integrity
    • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, banking partners and financial institutions
  • Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning
    • Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement
    • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support business decisions and growth initiatives
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and assess their financial impact on the organization
    • Monitor and report on compliance with all bank covenants and other requirements

 

  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members

 

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
    • Proven experience of 5 or more years in a senior accounting or finance role with demonstrated leadership capabilities
    • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data to drive strategic decision making
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
