Work Schedule: Monday – Friday/ 8:00am – 5:00pm (on-site)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Salary Range: $140K – $145K
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
- Financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and trends
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department leads
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
- Forecast financial trends and outcomes to support decision making
- Accounting Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions that supports robust departmental and account profitability reporting
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations and reporting
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to safeguard assets and maintain financial integrity
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, banking partners and financial institutions
- Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning
- Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support business decisions and growth initiatives
- Evaluate investment opportunities and assess their financial impact on the organization
- Monitor and report on compliance with all bank covenants and other requirements
- Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Proven experience of 5 or more years in a senior accounting or finance role with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data to drive strategic decision making
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
