Position Summary
The Controller will be responsible for preparing financial statements in compliance with regulatory and accounting standards under the supervision of a Regional Controller. The role will include oversight of all financial aspects of the division’s operations, ensuring accurate reporting and financial controls. This individual will also lead a team of accounting and administrative professionals, assist in operational decision-making, and support financial planning and analysis.
This role requires a detail-oriented and reliable professional with the ability to meet deadlines with precision, operate autonomously, and collaborate effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as a leader within the organization, upholding standards and addressing issues promptly and professionally.

Participate in recruiting, training, and developing team members; provide ongoing feedback and support annual performance evaluations.

Escalate employee issues appropriately and administer discipline in coordination with Human Resources.

Ensure compliance with internal standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Act as a primary point of contact for the division’s finance team; troubleshoot issues with a focus on resolution.

Adjust team compensation and schedules in collaboration with the Regional Controller.

Plan, direct, and oversee the work of accounting staff.

Attend all required leadership, training, and safety meetings.

Analyze and explain variances in monthly financial statements.

Ensure the completeness and accuracy of month-end schedules and supporting documentation.

Provide financial data to Operations for decision-making support.

Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate divisional performance.

Create cash forecasts and management reporting for the division.

Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses.

Lead financial planning and analysis processes.

Oversee job cost projections in partnership with project managers.

Manage financial reporting tied to job cost accounting.

Conduct job cost analysis and variance reporting.

Prepare and monitor annual operating and capital budgets.

Review bank reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and depreciation schedules.

Approve wire transfers, ACH payments, and weekly check runs when necessary.

Support various special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business required.

Master’s degree or CPA designation preferred.

3–5 years of public accounting experience, preferably in a managerial role.

Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Experience with accounting software such as Viewpoint (Vista) or QuickBooks Online is a plus.
