Key Requirements
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution
- Background in a financial institution is required

Strong technical accounting expertise

Proven leadership experience, including mentoring, training, and team oversight

Position Summary
The Controller or AVP of Accounting will work closely with the CFO and oversee all accounting operations. While the CFO focuses on executive-level strategy, this person will own day-to-day financial management, internal controls, and operational accounting. This includes building out financial systems and processes, providing leadership to a capable team, regulatory reporting, and audit readiness.
Additional duties will include:

Oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, budgeting, and financial reporting

Maintain GAAP compliance and ensure timely and accurate financials

Develop and improve internal controls, systems, and processes

Prepare and present reports

Manage audits, regulatory exams, and compliance with tax filings and call reports

Oversee liquidity management, profitability modeling, etc.

Partner with CFO on strategic initiatives and financial planning as well as support investment analysis and enterprise risk management
