We are looking for an optimistic person who will bring their willingness to learn as well as share their innovative ideas with the team.?The role requires the ability to multi-task, communicate, collaborate, and thrive within a deadline-driven environment.
 
The Tax Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate and timely preparation of select Federal related processes (e.g., tax depreciation).
  • Assist with the compilation and processing of tax returns, tax accruals, and certain state income tax estimates.
  • Assist in gathering data requirements for all aspects of informational tax filings (e.g., 1099, W-2, 5498) and assist with filing reconciliations (e.g., IRS forms 941, 945).
  • Research and draft response for notices and inquiries from taxing authorities, vendors, and other internal departments.
  • Accurate and timely tracking, remitting, and/or filing of guaranty fund assessments. 
  • Responsible for municipal tax and sales & use tax filings.
  • Prepare tax account reconciliation on a periodic basis.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

 
 

Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements

 
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Entry level knowledge of tax and accounting processes and procedures
  • Strong communication and organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to context, substance, and detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within a collaborative team-oriented environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel) and the ability to learn to new software.
