Dermatology Physician Assistant

Pay: $65-85/hour plus productivity bonus

Schedule: 32-hours per week (considered full-time)
4-days per week, days worked each week may change depending on patients scheduled
Practice is open Monday through Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM

Requirements: 

  • Active NY State Physician Assistant License
  • Completion of an approved Physician Assistant program from an institution accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education
  • 2+ years of professional dermatology experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the duties and responsibilities of Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards
  • Assist in monitoring and managing day-to-day needs of patients
  • Provide comprehensive medical care under the supervision of a Board Certified Physician
  • Provide patients of all ages with general, surgical, and/or cosmetic care
  • Obtain detailed and accurate history, identifying problems, and presenting information to the supervising physician
  • Examine, diagnose, and inform patients to determine appropriate treatments
  • Chart via written or electronic means: history and physical examinations, consultations, daily patient encounter notes, urgent evaluations notes, minor procedure notes, and brief post-operative notes as it pertains
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Administer injections and medication as directed by the Physician
  • Ensure infection control protocols are followed
  • Monitor and report on treatment progress
  • Prescribe medication
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
  • Act as first-line person responsible for all post procedure management of patients as requested by Physician
  • Have working knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance
  • Exhibit organizational, communication and leadership skills, initiative, accountability, responsibility, appropriate judgement, and decision-making
  • Promote a professional and welcoming environment to enhance the quality of service and care offered to patients
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned
