Responsibilities
The Director of Human Resources will play a critical role in shaping the company’s people strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, and fostering a high-performance culture. This role will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, compensation and benefits, compliance, and culture-building initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR leadership within the life sciences industry and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the company’s mission, values, and business objectives
- Build and manage recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain top industry talent
- Establish and implement HR policies, programs, and initiatives to support a positive and engaging workplace culture
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational development, employee relations, and talent management strategies
- Oversee benefits administration, ensuring competitive and cost-effective health, wellness, and retirement plans to attract and retain top talent
- Lead benchmarking and market analysis efforts to ensure the company remains competitive in compensation and benefits
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and industry regulations regarding compensation and benefits
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, industry regulations, and company policies
- Develop and implement HR systems and metrics to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency
- Support change management and organizational growth strategies, ensuring smooth transitions as the company scales
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience; pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory requirements in a highly regulated industry
- Experience in a pre-commercial or high-growth company environment is highly desirable
- Proven ability to build, develop, and scale HR functions in a dynamic organization
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution and problem-solving
- Proficiency in HR technology, analytics, and metrics-driven decision-making
