Hiring for a Director of Nursing/Clinical Services for a healthcare facility in Boston, MA

MUST have at least 2 years of recent DON experience 
Active RN license in Massachusetts required

Permanent position.
Service area: Boston – Roxbury/Dorchester/Brookline (12 total areas)
Travel: may have to help with assessments, but mostly just oversight sitting onsite at head quarters in Boston
Schedule: M-F-full-time day shift (no nights, not weekends, no holidays)
Notes: Hybrid opportunity, come in as needed probably 4 days a week to start to get a handle on the work (2-3 days on site after comfortable and remote other days). COVID vaccine required.
Direct reports: 17 RNs, 2 managers
EMR: SAMS
Rate: $130-140k (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Assess potential needs of each patient, nursing assessment/intake
  • Minimal clinical work such as initial assessments, BP/vitals, and documentation
  • Lead nursing operations for home care programs, care transitions, and community-based programs.
  • Responsible for motivating, providing support, consultation and regularly scheduled supervision of RN Managers and staff RNs.
  • Partner in the development of internal quality assurance activities in collaboration with the Director of Projects and Quality including random case file review, and policy and procedure training.
  • Ensure program compliance with all EOEA, state and federal policies and regulations, timeliness of assessments/community screens.
  • Develop and implement clinical and operational policies and procedures to promote quality, efficient, cost-effective service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Director of Home Care and the Director of Client Services and Community Engagement to coordinate services that promote independence and well-being
  • Assist in the design, operation, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing programs.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training of all RNs and participating in the orientation process for program staff.
  • Identify RN training needs and collaborate with Human Resources to enhance staff skills and improve performance

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in either nursing, social work, human services, public administration, gerontology, and/or other appropriate fields, plus six years’ experience in human services, and at least three years of which has been spent in a supervisory/administrative position.
  • Or bachelor’s degree in either nursing, social work, human services, public administration, gerontology, and/or other appropriate fields, plus seven years’ experience in human services, at least five years of which have been spent in a supervisory/administrative position.
  • Or associate’s degree in science and extensive experience in nursing in Home Care or Community Health. What is considered extensive experience, may consider, at least eight years of experience.
  • MA RN licensure
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Creole) preferred but not required
  • Must have community health experience in some capacity
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Comfortability with a diverse environment
