Director of Residential

Role:
– There are 3 directors and 1 assistant director that would be directly under this person.

Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum ten years experience working in human services/mental health field with proven supervisory experience, experience overseeing program operations. 
  • Must have a valid MA driver’s license and DEEC CORI/DCF background check
  • DCF Medication Administration Program Certification (MAP), First Aid, CPR, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Certification are all required to be successfully completed before the end of the 90 day new employee probation period and are required to be maintained throughout employment.- THIS ALL WILL BE STARTED DURING ORIENTATION,

Pay: 
100-120k, depending on experience (plus benefits, please see below for details!)

Schedule: 
-M-F,  residential hours. This is not a 9a-5p position. This person would need to be willing to work flexible hours (ex: 11a-7p, 12p-8p, etc.)
 
ACCOUNTABLE AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING RESULTS:

  • Conduct investigations, work with both DCF and DEEC (licensing, investigations, etc.), Managing program managers, support managers and direct care staff in the residential settings, leadership experience working with interdisciplinary teams is preferred, as well as an understanding and true passion for residential trauma informed care.
  • Provide oversight of staff schedule matters.
  • Provide oversight of youth crisis situations and ensure appropriate crisis interventions are implemented.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion and submission of food and supply orders, National School Lunch compliance paperwork, petty cash submissions, attendance and other PQI reporting as well as and program budget expense reports.
  • Facilitate required, non-certification annual training’s as required and ensure all staff members are meeting annual training requirements.
  • Ensure utilization of all safety measures to include completing evacuation and lock down drills and utilizing and accounting for radio devices.
  • Ensure appropriate implementation of the Behavior Support Policy, ICMPs, CARE and TCI techniques.
  • Comply at all times with federal, state and local regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, caring atmosphere for youth who reside in the residence.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, treatment team, consults, managers meeting, and required training’s as scheduled.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the actual developmental levels of youth in the residence, and intervenes to promote development and adjusts expectations according to development level
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of family/kinship connections to youth in our residence and supports those connections by welcoming parents, relatives, and caregivers on visits and facilitating planned contacts with families in the program, the community, and the family/relative home.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisory or administrative staff.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in related field required; master’s degree preferred. Minimum ten years experience working in human services/mental health field with proven supervisory experience, experience overseeing program operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to participate with active youth, including physical interventions and care for program facilities and equipment.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Work well as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries while providing nurturing care to youth in homelike settings. Emotional impact of working with traumatized youth.  Ability to write in a professional and objective manner.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Residential setting, community activities, home/relative visits.
