Employee Relations Consultant
Location: Boston Massachusetts
Pay: $50-55/hr
Schedule: M-F 9a-5p 
Assignment: 6 month

Requirements:

  • Five plus years Employee Relations experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Effectively communicate with management to provide direction and guidance on complex employment issues including disciplinary actions, behavior and conduct issues, terminations, leave administration, workplace conflict and other HR related issues.
  • Partner with Labor and Employment to manage union grievances, disputes, employee issues and concerns.
  • Manages internal employment investigations process; works with senior leadership to facilitate investigations and actively participate when necessary.
  • Provides support to Senior HR leadership, and management staff on employment matters.
  • Assists management in preparing performance management and formal disciplinary actions. Ensuring official documentation is properly maintained to support recommended employment actions.
  • Consult with management in developing employee performance improvement plans. Partner with management to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed when preparing notices related to employee counseling and disciplinary action.
  • Assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures, preparing and maintaining employment handbook updates on policies and procedures.
  • Research employment laws to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Pay: $50-55/hr (potentially $56 if amazing candidate with great experience)
Schedule: M-F 9a-5p (35-40hrs)
Assignment: 6 month
*Position goes Hybrid after 30days – (3 days a week in person – 2 days remote)
Summary:
The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a business partner across the Boston Public Health Commission. The ideal candidate actively participates in developing, executing, coordinating and/or communicating human resource initiatives in employee relations, investigations, performance management, HR compliance, risk management, policy and procedure interpretation and other HR functions as requested.
