Equipment Sanitation Supervisor

The Equipment Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of manufacturing areas and equipment to company and regulatory standards.  Directs the work activities of all sanitation personnel.  Provides effective and timely communication of manufacturing and/or sanitation concerns.  Has an in depth knowledge of equipment and cleaning/chemical applications.

JOB SUMMARY/keys

  1. Ensures that all manufacturing equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and assembled according to company cleaning procedures on a daily basis
  2. Direct supervision of sanitation staff including scheduling, performance, safety, discipline, and training
  3. Ensures compliance with electronic and/or paper record-keeping for regulatory and audit purposes
  4. Assists in developing, writing, and implementing cleaning procedures or changes
  1. Follows cleaning procedures and educates, monitors and trains sanitation personnel on cleaning procedures.
  1. Works safely adhering to all safety procedures.  Wears and enforces the proper use of all PPE.  Keeps up to date on all information on the MSDS for all cleaning chemicals.
  1. Able to disassemble and reassemble all equipment. Able to perform bottle changeovers on the lines.
  1. Report any conditions that need attention to appropriate manager.
  1. Recommends ways to improve the cleaning of the equipment and the facility more efficiently.
  2. Communicates with Chemical Supplier Sales Tech on cleaning issues
  3. Provides feedback to appropriate department regarding issues that arise
  4. Follow all company policies and procedures with regard to safety, quality, sanitation, personnel, maintenance, escalation processes on off shifts, and equipment, including food safety.
  5. Monitors inventory of cleaning chemicals, cleaning supplies, and equipment parts
  6. Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing and quality related issues.

EXPECTATIONS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of team leader or supervisor experience in sanitation or a cleaning role or the equivalent.
  2. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more at shoulder height on a regular basis and to stand for several hours at a time.  Must be able to climb ladders, twist, bend, reach, kneel and squat on a regular basis.
  1. Ability to operate electrical and manual pallet jacks.
  1. Must be able to properly wear required Personnel Protective Equipment.
  1. Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office and Excel preferred).
