Excavation Project Manager

A leading contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee all phases of excavation and projects. In this role, you’ll act as the main point of contact between the Owner-Architect-Builder team and field operations—ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to spec.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead quantity takeoffs, contract negotiations, and subcontractor buyouts

  • Develop and maintain project schedules and cost forecasts

  • Oversee submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and payment requisitions

  • Manage procurement and site logistics in coordination with superintendents

  • Conduct regular site visits to review progress, troubleshoot, and ensure safety/compliance

  • Prepare and negotiate change orders

  • Track quantities and costs via field logs and reporting tools

  • Review evolving plans and manage scope changes accordingly

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in site/civil construction (public or private work)

  • Strong technical understanding of excavation, construction sequencing, and equipment

  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety protocols

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels—from laborers to ownership

  • Proficiency in construction management and job cost software

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering

  • OSHA 30 certification

  • Valid driver’s license
