Duties/Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced Machinist to assist in running CNC and manual machines of a single type independently. (Milling or Turning Center)
Ability to read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set up and operation independently.
Understand all set up parameters and the effect that they have on the process, for example, datum setting and tool length and wear offsets independently.
Perform moderate/complex production set up’s independently with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
Operate all floor measurement instruments: Micro height, micrometers, calipers, etc.
Complete machining operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
Ensure parts are handled and protected in a suitable manner to prevent damage during operations and movement.
Runs secondary operations on another machine when time allows.
Aids management in scheduling work load to save time.
Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment, tools, gages and keep work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
