Experienced Machinist needed for growing business in CT!

Duties/Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Machinist to assist in running CNC and manual machines of a single type independently. (Milling or Turning Center)

  • Ability to read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set up and operation independently.
  • Understand all set up parameters and the effect that they have on the process, for example, datum setting and tool length and wear offsets independently.
  • Perform moderate/complex production set up’s independently with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Perform tool offsets as needed independently-Change Tool numbers offsets, speeds, feeds
  • Operate all floor measurement instruments: Micro height, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Complete machining operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
  • Ensure parts are handled and protected in a suitable manner to prevent damage during operations and movement.
  • Runs secondary operations on another machine when time allows.
  • Aids management in scheduling work load to save time.
  • Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
  • Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment, tools, gages and keep work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
