Facilities Manager

My client in Danvers MA is looking for a Facility Manager for about 3 months with the possibility of going longer. They do not want this person to start until the beginning of July but would like to start the search.

Pay Rate $38-43 (Depending on experience) 
Location: Danvers MA (Onsite)
Length: 3 month contract with possibility of getting extended 

SUMMARY:
Maintains and oversees the company’s grounds, building and equipment to ensure a safe and functional workplace. Duties include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates. This position reports to the Business Leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Inspects and performs maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities
• Ensures assigned facilities and equipment are ready for regular business and special events
• Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment
• Maintains the inventory, storage, and distribution of equipment
• Negotiating bids and contracts for third party workers
• Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment
• Collaborates with other appropriate management staff to prepare and implement budget
• Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
• Inspecting buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
• Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
• Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
• Supervise all external contractors (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.)
• Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
• Allocate office space according to needs
• Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
• Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed
• Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
• Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
• Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
• Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
• Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
• Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
• Would serve as the safety officer for the facility: lead the Safety Committee and assign necessary safety videos

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience managing the company’s type of facilities, equipment, and events preferred
• Proficient in word and excel
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational and analytical skills

COMPUTER SKILLS
• Must be excellent with technology, proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome

• Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
• Must be able to sit and/or drive for long periods of time when traveling
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8-15 hours) for multiple days
• Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather)
• The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud
