Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Technician to join our team during the 1 PM – 9 PM shift. This hybrid role involves performing routine facilities maintenance while supporting the organization’s safety and security needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with basic building repairs and custodial tasks and also play a visible role in monitoring the premises during and after events.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities Maintenance & Operations (70%)
Perform general building maintenance duties including minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC filter changes).
Support event setups and breakdowns including furniture arrangement, AV equipment setup, and signage placement.
Conduct daily walkthroughs of the building to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety.
Respond to and resolve facilities-related service requests in a timely manner.
Assist with janitorial oversight and restocking of supplies.
Security & Monitoring (30%)
Perform periodic walkthroughs of the building and exterior grounds during the evening hours.
Monitor after-hours parking areas for unauthorized activity and report suspicious behavior.
Ensure doors, gates, and other access points are secured at the end of the shift.
Provide on-site presence during internal and external events for crowd monitoring and safety support.
Communicate with management and local authorities as needed for any security incidents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training a plus.
2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Prior experience with event support and light security monitoring preferred.
Strong observational and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift.
Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently during evening hours.
Work Environment:
Indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Occasional contact with vendors, visitors, or external contractors.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Some flexibility for special events as needed)
