Duties:
- Develop & implement primary care protocols and procedures
- Works independently as well as collaboratively with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient’s health care problems.
- Provides professional supervision and advisement to primary care nursing staff including instruction in performance of job duties.
- Oversees the scheduling of appointments and general medical office practices including medical record maintenance and billing practices.
- Ordering and maintaining supplies for primary care unit, assures all equipment is maintained in proper functioning order. Monitors units of service productivity and office expenses.
- Implements current first aid and/or emergency procedures.
- Participates on agency committees as required to provide professional guidance and advisement as necessary. Acts as health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate.
- May provide in-service education on medical health care issues as needed.
Requirements:
- Must have New York State Certification as Family Nurse Practitioner in Family Health
- Ability to work with adults and children, knowledge and abilities commensurate with those of general medical practice. Awareness of Primary Care Office Management and procedure, knowledge and certification in First Aid and/or emergency procedure
