M-F 8a-4:30 OR 8:30-5p

This position is not assigned to one particular location and you must be willing and able to report to any of our six locations (Athol, Gardner, Leominster, Worcester, Lancaster, Acton) as needed. Hours are Monday-Friday. No nights or weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for patient check-in, greeting everyone in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Ensure that proper authorization/referral or waiver is collected from the patient
  • Assist patients in obtaining authorization or referrals that have not been received by the practice
  • Maintain proper opening and closing procedures
  • Open cash registers at the beginning of the day and cash out during shift changes, etc
  • Check-out all patients; review fee sheets for correct charges and diagnosis marked
  • As necessary, schedule return appointments for follow-up
  • Collect fee for services and document appropriately
  • Answer telephone calls promptly (two rings); address patient’s concern in calling; direct all calls to appropriate staff; identify emergency calls and schedule
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as necessary
  • File and Pull charts as required
  • Follow Office Opening and Closing Procedures as required
  • Check that service is on at the end of the day
  • Perform other duties, as required
  • Other duties as assigned.’
