Temp to Hire

Temp Pay: $18 – $22
Location: Fall River, MA
Hours: Monday – Friday, 4:00pm – Midnight

  • Fridays they are allowed to leave at 11pm and get paid for 8 hours

Position Summary:  The housekeeping staff is responsible for the cleanliness of the facility. Will be cleaning sterile areas so attention to detail and being energetic are important qualities to have

Education/ Qualifications:

  1. Attended high school program or tech school.
  2. Three years or more experience in a healthcare setting with housekeeping. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Housekeeping work assignments are completed as outlined in the Cleaning Frequency Charts.
  2. The housekeepers are responsible to keep adequate cleaning supplies, including can liners, paper towels, toilet tissue, and Styrofoam cups. 
  3. At the close of each business day at 5:00 p.m., the entrance doors will be secured.  Only persons authorized by the Medical Director and the Administrator are to have access to the facility when closed for business. 
  4. During the work shift, the housekeepers will report any building/equipment malfunctions to the Administrator, or, if not available, the Medical Director or Clinical Nurse Administrator. 
  5. Any suspicious activity outside the premises is to be reported to the police.  At the end of the work shift, the alarm system is to be armed before exiting the building.  If the alarm does not set, the alarm company is to be notified for immediate servicing.
  6.  The maintenance person is on the list of persons to be notified in an emergency or alarm condition when the building is unoccupied. 
  7. Proper sanitation techniques are used to control and reduce the possibility of cross-infection to patients and staff. 
  8. All equipment, environmental work surfaces, and floors are cleaned and decontaminated with the EPA-registered chemical germicide with tuberculacidal activity.  The germicide shall be missed at the dilution recommended by the manufacturer. 
  9. Any spray bottles are to be properly labeled with contents being used in cleaning. 
  10. Disposable latex gloves are worn during all cleaning procedures.  Replace damaged gloves immediately.  Wash hands thoroughly after removing gloves. 
  11. A coverall or staff clothing, with hat and shoe covers, must be worn at all times in sterile areas.
  12. Housekeeping equipment is kept in a clean and functioning condition.  Equipment must be cleaned with detergent germicide and allowed to dry thoroughly. 
  13. A coverall or scrubs, with hat and shoe covers, must be worn at all times in sterile areas. 
  14. Closets are kept clean and orderly. 
  15. Universal Precaution guidelines have been established for the safety and protection of personnel.  They are outlined in the Infection Control section of this manual. 
  16. Protects the patient’s/facility’s right to privacy and confidentiality.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements of Job:

  1. Work in a busy high stress atmosphere.
  2. Work in an area with some physical discomforts due to unpleasant odors or noise.
  3. Physically demanding job, requiring standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  4. Lifting and carrying items weighting up to 50lbs.
  5. Ability to reach high places and climb a ladder to the roof. 
  6. Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable disease, chemicals and repetitive motion.
  7. Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
  8. Working irregular hours.
  9. Maintains awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damage to personnel and patients.
