Position Summary
We are a leader in the food manufacturing industry seeking a proactive and strategic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to own and lead the entire HR function at the facility. This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for driving HR initiatives aligned with business objectives while supporting a diverse workforce of hourly and salaried employees.
The ideal candidate will have deep HR generalist experience, strong knowledge of manufacturing environments, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to build, optimize, and lead HR strategy in a dynamic and fast-paced food production setting.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Leadership
- Serve as the sole HR leader at the plant/site, responsible for full-spectrum HR services.
- Partner with plant leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Lead employee engagement, culture-building, and change management initiatives.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions.
- Develop workforce plans to support production and seasonal demands.
- Lead onboarding and orientation programs to ensure strong employee integration.
Employee Relations & Labor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations issues.
- Promote a positive and compliant work environment; investigate and resolve concerns promptly.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
- Partner with safety and operations teams to support workplace health and safety programs.
- Manage audits, documentation, and reporting related to HR and regulatory compliance.
Training & Development
- Identify training needs and implement programs for skill development and performance improvement.
- Support leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
- Administer compensation programs, benefits enrollment, and annual review cycles.
- Analyze wage trends and ensure competitive pay practices for hourly and salaried staff.
HR Operations
- Maintain HRIS records and ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
- Lead payroll coordination with Finance or third-party providers.
- Track and analyze HR metrics (turnover, time-to-fill, absenteeism, etc.) to inform decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification a plus).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High emotional intelligence with strong communication, mediation, and coaching skills.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday) and MS Office Suite.
Preferred Attributes
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience supporting unionized or partially unionized facilities is a plus.
