- Maintenance and repair: Perform regular maintenance on plumbing systems and repair existing fixtures and pipes.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and solve plumbing problems, such as blockages, leaks, or system failures.
- Code compliance: Ensure all work is done safely and in accordance with all local, state, and national building codes and regulations.
- System inspection: Inspect and test plumbing systems to verify they are functioning correctly and are safe.
Required skills and qualifications
- Licensed
- Blueprint reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and plans to plan installations and layouts.
- Technical proficiency: Expertise in working with pipes, fittings, and all types of plumbing fixtures.
- Physical abilities: Must be able to perform physical tasks like standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting heavy objects.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to handle complex issues.
- Communication: Good communication skills for coordinating with other trades and speaking with clients.
- Customer service: Ability to work professionally and courteously with customers.
