Behavioral Health Clinician
Location: Manhattan, NY
Schedule: Full-time | Flexible hours, some evenings or weekends required
Reports To: Senior Director of Support Services

About the Role

We’re seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Clinician to provide mental health services to patients and families across all age groups in a primary care setting. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing counseling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. The ideal candidate is collaborative, empathetic, and comfortable working in a diverse and fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and assign DSM-5 and ICD-10 diagnoses.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Provide psychotherapy and psychoeducation to patients through individual, family, or group sessions.

  • Facilitate appropriate referrals and coordinate care while maintaining patient confidentiality.

  • Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning for patients at risk.

  • Collaborate with primary care providers and participate in interdisciplinary case reviews.

  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and policy development.

  • Stay within the scope of your license and uphold current standards of care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensure: Active New York State license required (LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT).

  • Education: Advanced degree in mental health counseling, social work, or related field.

  • Experience:

  • Working with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, or chronic health conditions.

  • Experience supporting diverse populations, including LGBTQ+, immigrant, and multilingual communities, is strongly preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach with the ability to build rapport quickly.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health records (e.g., eClinicalWorks preferred).

  • Languages: Fluency in Spanish or an Asian language is a plus.

  • Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
