Machine Operator

We are working with a Manufacturer in Wallingford who is looking for Machine Operator help on their overnight shift.  2 Positions open!

Basic Machine Operating experience and use of inspection tools (calipters/micrometers) is necessary (6+ months)

Pay/Hours     2 month training on 1st shift 7am – 3pm Mon-Fri and paid $23.22/hour

  • 3rd shift schedule:  11pm – 7am and pay is $25.07/hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Wind from multiple reels to single reel as necessary for cabling or other operations
  • Visually checks all wire and cable during rewinding operations to detect rough finish areas, obvious diameter variations and other disqualifying elements
  • Take approved action to report, repair, remove faulty areas depending upon type and use requirements of wire or cable being rewound
  • Performs simple electrical test functions to check cables and other items for continuity and “dead” shorts
  • Run routine spark and similar tests following established practices and/or specific instructions
  • Performs minor cable repairs, trim braid, repair jackets and perform other routine repair operations as necessary
  • Check wall thickness, conductor and other diameters using micrometers and other measuring devices
  • Coat wires and cable as directed

Qualifications/Requirements
 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Ability to comprehend parts/operator manuals/instructions
  • Solid troubleshooting ability
