Positions will pay $25-35/hour with a schedule of 8am – 5pm Mon-Fri,
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist with a keen eye for detail and strong technical skills to set up, operate, and maintain manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other equipment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of machining operations, blueprint reading, and quality control standards. This role requires precision, reliability, and adherence to safety protocols to produce high-quality components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) to produce parts to exact specifications, often holding tolerances of ±.0002.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop instructions.
- Utilize precision measuring tools to inspect finished products, ensuring they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure longevity and performance.
- Work collaboratively with quality control, engineering, and production teams to resolve any machining or design issues.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational or technical training is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a manual machinist in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency with manual machining equipment and precision measuring tools.
- Strong knowledge of machining practices, including tooling setup, feeds and speeds, and material properties.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with machining processes and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
