MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS ANALYST

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Operational Analyst to join our team.  The Operational Analyst will play a key role in optimizing our production processes, improving operational efficiency, and supporting data-driven decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory management, and a passion for enhancing the overall effectiveness of our operational excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to production performance, inventory management, and supply chain operations. Prepare detailed reports and provide actionable insights to key stakeholders. Develop and maintain dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, efficiency, quality, lead times and cost.
  • Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to enhance operational productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality standards in manufacturing. Participate in and contribute to Continuous Improvement projects, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of manufacturing processes. Use data to suggest improvements and ensure adherence to safety and quality regulations. Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing key findings, trends, and improvement recommendations for operations leadership. Track the progress and impact of implemented improvement initiatives.
  • Forecasting & Inventory Management: Assist in demand forecasting, inventory tracking, and ensuring optimal stock levels for components used in the business.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production, engineering, quality control, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Provide analytical support to resolve operational challenges.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to fire suppression systems, including NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, OSHA guidelines, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Project Management Support: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of operational projects aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency and expanding production capacity.
  • Cost Management: Support cost control efforts by analyzing production costs, including labor, materials and overhead, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring the efficient use of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in operations analysis or a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Preferred (but not required): Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in the context of fire suppression systems or similar industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights using  data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Netsuite) and MES systems is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards, such as NFPA regulations, is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).

Project management experience.
