Hiring for a Medical Assistant in Plymouth, MA

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $27/hour

  • This role will be very hands on and will be trained to assist with in-office procedures.
  • Ideally looking for someone coming from urology, OBGYN, or any other surgical specialty that will be comfortable with this. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients, document basic medical history and confirm purpose of visit
  • Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight and temperature
  • Explain treatment and procedures to patients, assist the physician during exams
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and ensure test results are prepared for physicians prior to patients next appointment
  • Instruct patients about medication and special diets, prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician
  • Draw blood, as required, perform urodynamic studies
  • Perform catheter changes and instruct patients on usage, pessary changes and fittings
  • RIMSO administration
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, medications, etc., clean and sterilize patient rooms and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited program required
  • National Certificate strongly preferred but not required
  • Active CPR/BLS Certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Medical Assistant experience required
  • Phlebotomy experience required
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology, strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment with effective communication, training, respect and purpose so the patient experience is excellent at the company
  • Must be able to adequately perform job duties and communicate clearly with patients in person and over the phone, must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy stressful situation
  • Ability to use a stethoscope
  • Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance
