Pay: $22-24/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9AM-5PM, 1-hour unpaid lunch
Requirements:
- Medical Billing Certificate from college or technical school
- 2-3 years of medical billing experience
- Experience with any EMR system is required, practice uses PCC (Physician’s Computer Company – pediatric specific EMR)
- Knowledge of medical professional fee billing
- Knowledge of HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 coding concepts and application
Responsibilities:
- Establish payment plans to help patients manage payment of bills
- Post insurance payments
- Make recommendations for referral to collection agency, bad debt, or courtesy write-off
- Documents all communications and activities in EMR
- Appeal denied or underpaid claims
- Act as agent for the practice when dealing with patients, employers, and insurance companies
- Respond to patient billing and statement inquiries
- Keep current with insurance company requirements and keep the manager appraised of any changes
- Run A/R reports
- Work accounts receivable (60-120)
