Medical Receptionist – Urgent Care
*full time, temp to hire

The receptionist is the first point of contact for all of those entering our urgent care. lt is vital that the receptionist welcomes our patients and their parent/guardian(s) into our clinic kindly and professionally – truly setting the precedence for the quality of care that they will receive at Pedi-Q. In addition, they key function of a medical receptionist is to ensure that patient registration is performed accurately and efficiently, while also streamlining office operations.

This is an extremely important role for the office – there is only one receptionist scheduled at a time and cannot open and operate without them. 

Location: Northborough, MA
Pay: Temp $23 – $25
Schedule: Full time, 3 12-hour shifts
*MUST be flexible with availability during the week and weekends.

  • Looking for someone to work every or every other Sunday and two days during the week!
  • one hour paid lunch 1 – 2pm
  • 9am – 9pm weekdays
  • 8am – 8pm weekends
  • 2 days a week for part time
  • 3 days a week for full time
  • There are two consistent schedule rotations broken down to week 1, week 2

Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients, parents/guardians, staff, vendors, and all others cheerfully and professionally.
  • Registers patients into our EMR (lMS) accurately and efficiently.
  • Aids patients or parents/guardian(s) with registration process when needed.
  • Performs insurance verification.
  • Collects co-pays and balances.
  • Answers telephones, and routes messages to appropriate department.
  • Receives delivered packages; puts away supplies.
  • Ensures entryway and lobby is presentable and clean at all times.
  • Ensures reception area, lobby, and entryway are stocked with appropriate supplies at all times.
  • Removes trash from facility to dumpster every night.
  • Maintains front desk supply inventory by checking dock daily to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; informing center supervisor when to order supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; replenish supplies onsite.
  • Protects patients, parents/guardian(s), and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable and dependable candidate
  • Prior experience in urgent care/other medical office required
  • Experience in pediatrics preferred, not required
  • Previous EMR experience highly preferred
    • Will train on IMS
  • Medical terminology required

Physical Requirements

  • Requires sitting and walking for extensive periods of time
  • Requires occasional lifting nd carrying items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Requires working under potentially stressful conditions or working irregular hours
  • Required some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
