Position Overview
The Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) will be responsible for a broad range of administrative and legal support duties, working closely with attorneys and other team members. Responsibilities include assisting with client case management, drafting legal documents, preparing motions, proofreading, and managing e-filing tasks. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with prior litigation experience, eager to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
Location: Worcester, MA
Schedule: Full-time, with the possibility of one remote workday per week after training is completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in the area of Business Litigation.
- Draft, proofread, and edit various legal documents such as motions, briefs, and correspondence.
- Assemble and file legal documents with courts, ensuring all filings are completed accurately and on time.
- Engage in e-filing with local, state, and federal courts.
- Track and coordinate multiple deadlines to ensure compliance with time-sensitive tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, and data entry.
- Adhere to the organization’s policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant, especially within Corporate or Municipal Law, is preferred.
- An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
- Familiarity with both electronic and paper court filing systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must maintain discretion and handle confidential information responsibly.
