Job Title: Operations Manager

Reports To: CEO
Location: Guilford, CT (On-site)

Summary of Position

The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling materials, workflow, and shipments related to current, pending, and future sales orders. This role oversees production planning, purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, and shipping while ensuring operational efficiency, on-time delivery, quality, safety, and cost control. The Operations Manager serves as a key cross-functional liaison between departments to support business objectives and customer commitments.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive performance to meet or exceed established KPIs related to On-Time Delivery (OTD), Quality, Environmental, and Safety standards.

  • Design and implement plans for the effective use of labor and material resources to achieve operational targets.

  • Supervise Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse/Shipping teams to ensure operations remain on schedule and within budget.

  • Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.

  • Develop and maintain rolling quarterly production plans aligned with customer demand and material availability.

  • Lead daily shop-floor stand-up meetings to review prior-day performance, resolve issues, and establish daily priorities.

  • Prepare and maintain operational reports, including schedule adherence, downtime, scrap/waste, NCPs, cycle times, and ship-to-promise performance.

  • Establish and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output and efficiency.

  • Monitor, record, and analyze materials movement and operational expenditures.

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support on-time customer deliveries.

  • Establish procedures and oversee physical inventories and cycle count programs to ensure high inventory accuracy.

  • Ensure compliance with company standard practices and operating procedures across all materials and operations functions.

  • Oversee procurement of components, materials, and equipment required for production.

  • Manage purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations through effective policies and controls.

  • Maintain warehouse facilities by planning layouts, inspecting equipment, and coordinating repairs or replacements.

  • Plan and coordinate logistics and transportation to meet customer delivery requirements.

  • Ensure timely release of work orders and production tickets.

  • Plan and execute implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) impacting purchasing, production, and inventory.

  • Perform other duties as required to support operational excellence and business goals.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university; Business or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in an operations or management role within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

  • Expert-level experience in production planning, warehouse operations, inventory control, purchasing, and materials management.

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead by example and promote accountability and engagement.

  • Proven ability to manage priorities and perform under tight and changing deadlines.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and results-driven with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading teams to completion.

  • Experience building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, quality, engineering, and executive leadership.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $150,000

  • Annual Bonus: Target 20%

  • Long-Term Incentive: 20% long-term investment participation
