MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years multi-state payroll experience (PeopleSoft a must)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with in-house payroll preferred
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate, produce, and audit weekly payrolls, including off-cycle checks, when appropriate
- Calculate, record, and audit payroll adjustments, including pro-rates pay, termination payouts, bonuses, other special payments, etc.
- Partner with managers to resolve timesheet issues
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of payroll related reports upon request
- Assist with year-end reconciliation by preparing reports and verifying quarterly and year-end information
- Investigate questionable data and take corrective action when necessary
- Provide support to employees at all levels and locations of the company with questions, problem resolution, etc., in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and related policies
- Participate in audits, legal requests, external requests for information
- Supports system testing, analysis, and implementation upon request
- Participates in various ad-hoc and routine projects and requests as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws
- Intermediate MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and maintain deadlines
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting – resourceful and self-starter.
