This is a 6-8 month contract role:
Responsibilities:
- Receive biweekly payroll summaries from departments and correctly enter into the Paychex payroll system as well as changes or new entries as approved by the Human Resources Director.
- Review completed payroll files downloaded from Paychex for accuracy and import the completed files into the accounting software.
- Process and upload payroll deduction information.
- Create and import all journal entries related to payroll
- Perform clerical input of all required information for Verification of Employment.
- Assist the Finance Director in the monthly reconciliations of the payroll account.
Other responsibilities include:
- Processing and posting health insurance related invoices.
- Maintaining the Finance department office supplies budget and ordering supplies as needed.
- Assist the Finance Director with other projects including posting journal entries and creating reports for the annual audit.
- Support to the Finance Director in the printing, distribution and advertising of bid specifications as requested.
- Ensure proper controls in place for the bid process as instructed by the Finance Director
Qualifications:
- The accounting supervisor requires a minimum GED with at least five (5) years of experience in a financial reporting environment and/or payroll office or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with applicable payroll system.
- Computer strengths in the areas of Word, Excel, and other computer reporting programs
- Experience with data entry systems for financial reporting and ability to process compliance reporting in the areas of financial accounting and human resources.
- Working knowledge of the financial reconciliation process including accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
