Pediatric NP/PA

Schedule: Looking for full-time but would consider part-time
Monday through Thursday 8:00AM – 6:30PM, Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM
Would also consider Monday through Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Notes:

  • Seeking female Pediatrician, current Pediatrician is moving out of the area in January 2025 which would leave the team with 1 Pediatrician and 1 NP
  • Looking for full-time but would consider part-time, Pediatrician that is moving away currently works 24-hours per week

Requirements: 

  • NP/PA currently licensed in New York State who has been trained in the medical procedures related to assigned clinical setting – must maintain current licensure
  • Current CPR training, current PALS training
  • Minimum 2 years prior experience
  • Experience with AllScripts or other EMR systems

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the central figure in the healthcare setting and participates in the team approach toward producing primary patient care
  • Functions according to policies and procedures set forth by the organization
  • Greets patients, reviews patient history, screens for gross physical signs and symptoms, performs appropriate screening procedures related to pediatrics
  • Performs physical examinations on well and ill clients
  • Interprets laboratory data and orders appropriate additional laboratory procedures necessary for further evaluation of a case
  • Reviews all problem cases to determine course of treatment and indications for consultations as deemed necessary
  • Communicates with patients/parents/guardians as needed
  • Documents all patient encounters and interactions in the medical record in a timely manner
  • Shares rotation for after-hour telephone coverage and is available for critical lab consultation
  • Supervises and collaborates with mid-level Practitioners
  • Makes appropriate medical and social referrals as indicated
  • Participates in in-service education for medical staff and other allied health personnel (as requested)
  • Participates in quality assurance activities and programs set forth by the Quality Assurance committee of the organization
  • Assists in interpreting organizational programs to the medical community
  • Refers patient to hospital when patient’s health status appears to warrant hospitalization
  • Maintains current knowledge based on specialty
  • Implements patient care and treatments based on evidence-based practices / best practice standards
  • Seeks advice from department chair related to complex care and treatment when indicated

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must have excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to provide friendly, kind, and respectful service to patients
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Must have basic computer skills that include the ability to send/receive email messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing, bookkeeping, and/or data entry
  • Must be able to use AllScripts or other EMR for record documentation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, Medent
  • Must be able to use a computer, scanner, printer, calculator, photocopier, telephone, fax machine
  • Must be able to use a thermometer, blood pressure cuff, syringes, AED machine, Pulse Oximeter, Glucometer, and EKG
