Perioperative RN

Pay: $34-50/hour, based on years of experience
1-4 years of experience: $34-39/hour
5-10 years of experience: $40-44/hour
10+ years of experience: $45-50/hour

Schedule: 4x12s, Monday through Thursday 6:30AM-7:00PM (end time might be earlier depending on surgical schedule)

Requirements: 

  • 1+ year of nursing experience required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Active Maine RN license
  • BLS and ACLS Certifications
  • Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medications used by the surgeon and anesthesiologist, including preparing and dispensing narcotics

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks to assist with patient care
  • Maintaining sterile field awareness
  • Gathering necessary supplies and equipment for procedures according to surgical schedule
  • Preparing OR for planned procedures according to surgical schedule
  • Open supplies following sterile technique
  • Maintain documentation as required for instrument tracking and quality assurance
  • Moving equipment as necessary during surgical schedule
  • Assist staff with preparing, opening, and closing OR per protocol
  • Assisting with positioning patients as needed
  • Working in conjunction with instrument processing to obtain sterile items as needed
  • Returning used instrumentation to decontamination area following proper protocol
  • Assisting with inventory process both ordering and stocking supplies as needed
  • Ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
