Plumbing Estimator

An industry leader in Residential and Commercial HVAC, Plumbing organization is seeking a plumbing estimator to join the team. 

Job Summary: As a Plumbing Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our construction projects by accurately estimating costs and providing valuable insights for decision-making. You will oversee Plumbing projects from start to finish in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction Plumbing projects.
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements.
Conduct site visits and gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
Manage the bid strategy and proposal effort both internally and externally, provide competitive analysis, prepare proposal pricing.
Conduct risk assessment, create estimates, determine equipment and materials needs.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
Review and analyze contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Plumbing construction estimating or related role.
HVAC estimating experience preferred but required.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
Proven track record of successfully estimating projects within budgetary constraints.
Experience managing multiple bids through the entire bid process.
Highly skilled in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of commercial Plumbing construction industry, services, and market.
Well-versed in FastPIPE and FastDUCT estimating software
Strong mathematical skills for calculating costs and estimating timeframes.
Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail.
Customer service, negotiation, and planning skills.
Time management skills; able to prioritize work and complete projects on time.
Ability to present information in a clear and accurate manner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
