Responsibilities:
Independently prepares the instrumentation, supplies and equipment required for the performance of office based procedures following practice protocols and hospital policies.
• Ensures that all equipment is present and in optimal operating condition. Manages maintenance needs of equipment including regular maintenance and repairs, coordinating with vendor and Practice Manager as necessary.
• Anticipates the needs of the patient and clinician to facilitate the smooth and timely flow of the procedure.
• Maintains sterility at all times; recognizes and resolves any breaks in sterile field.
Escort patients to exam room and follow practice workflow (e.g., patient identification, initiate medication reconciliation, screening questions, vital signs) including documentation in Epic in a professional, inclusive, accurate, and enthusiastic manner. Prepare patient for procedure, explaining the procedure, ensuring that the patients concerns are addressed. Facilitate the patient’s recovery from the procedure and ensure the prompt turnover of the room.
Requirements
• Completion of a certification program as a Medical Assistant.
• Five years’ experience as a Medical Assistant or other comparable experience at minimum required.
• Experience working in an ambulatory clinical setting with high procedure volume, preferred.
• Experience with Epic
