Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with a background in production planning to lead sourcing and supply strategies for manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for securing materials, products, and services necessary for operational continuity while maintaining a focus on cost-effectiveness, quality, and delivery timelines. The ideal candidate will balance procurement strategy with production demands to ensure a responsive, efficient supply chain. Key responsibilities include supplier management, contract negotiation, inventory oversight, and collaboration across departments to align procurement activities with organizational goals and compliance requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute procurement strategies that support production timelines and operational priorities.

  • Analyze supplier markets to identify potential savings and supply alternatives.

  • Evaluate vendors and build strong, reliable supplier relationships.

  • Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, delivery, and service agreements.

  • Track supplier performance to ensure quality standards and on-time delivery are met.

  • Work closely with planning and production teams to forecast material requirements.

  • Proactively address supply constraints and introduce backup sourcing when needed.

  • Enhance internal processes to improve supply chain agility and reduce operational waste.

  • Assess risk across the procurement lifecycle and create mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with teams in engineering, logistics, and compliance to align on material needs and standards.

  • Ensure open communication across stakeholders to resolve challenges quickly.

  • Manage and develop a team responsible for procurement and materials planning.

  • Implement supplier scorecards and compliance metrics aligned with regulatory frameworks.

  • Conduct due diligence and onboarding for new vendors to ensure supply continuity.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience also considered.

  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPM, Six Sigma, or Lean credentials are advantageous.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain roles with a focus on planning or manufacturing support.


Skills and Tools:

  • Strong understanding of procurement operations, supplier sourcing, and quality/regulatory compliance (experience with regulated manufacturing is a plus).

  • Proficient in ERP systems and supply chain management software.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and team leadership capabilities.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and risk reduction.

  • Comfortable working with systems such as Microsoft Office, Rootstock, or NetSuite.
