About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Planning & Purchasing Manager to oversee material planning, procurement, and vendor management activities. This role is critical in ensuring supply continuity, optimizing inventory, and supporting operational excellence. You will partner closely with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver on business goals while driving efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.


What You’ll Do
Planning & Inventory Management

  • Lead material planning and scheduling to meet production and customer demand.
  • Develop and manage forecasts, safety stock levels, and inventory strategies.
  • Monitor material availability and proactively resolve supply constraints.

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Manage procurement activities for direct and indirect materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; evaluate supplier performance.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Identify opportunities to streamline planning and purchasing processes.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Quality, and Engineering to align supply chain strategies.
  • Implement best practices in ERP utilization, demand planning, and sourcing.

Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead and develop a small team of planning and purchasing professionals.
  • Provide accurate reporting and analytics to support decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in planning, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Background in a regulated industry such as medical devices, life sciences, or pharmaceuticals preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and quality system requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPM, or Lean Six Sigma are strongly preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and inventory planning tools, (Rootstcock, NetSuite).
  • Skilled in Excel and business analytics. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
