Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Project Accountant to support financial oversight of manufacturing projects from inception through completion. This role is responsible for project accounting, cost tracking, and auditing while working closely with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, procurement, and project management. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and hands-on experience with Sage accounting software.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project accounting activities for manufacturing projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Monitor and analyze project costs to ensure alignment with budgets and timelines
  • Perform project audits to ensure financial accuracy, compliance with internal controls, and adherence to company policies
  • Collaborate with project managers to review financial performance and provide actionable insights
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project financial reports for management review
  • Support month-end and year-end close related to project and manufacturing accounting
  • Ensure proper allocation of labor, materials, overhead, and other manufacturing-related costs
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and financial records
  • Interface regularly with multiple departments, ensuring clear communication and strong working relationships

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in project accounting within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with project auditing and internal controls
  • Sage accounting software experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, job costing, and work-in-progress (WIP)
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
