Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Construction Project Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and budgetary aspects of construction projects from planning through completion. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, reporting, and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and control project budgets, schedules, and financial performance.

Work closely with project managers to track actual vs. planned costs and schedules.

Prepare and analyze project forecasts, cash flow reports, and financial statements.

Ensure timely and accurate billing, cost coding, and change order documentation.

Develop and maintain project cost control systems and procedures.

Identify financial risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to mitigate risks.

Support monthly project reviews and financial reporting processes.

Collaborate with procurement teams to verify vendor invoices and contract compliance.

Assist in preparation of project audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards.

Maintain accurate documentation and project records for internal and external audits.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in project control, cost engineering, or financial analysis in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction project life cycles, cost control principles, cost of comletion, and budgeting techniques.

Proficiency in project management software (Procore preferred) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:

PMP, CCP, or related certification is an asset.

Experience with large-scale or multi-site construction projects.

Familiarity with local labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
