We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join a growing property management team in Nassau County.
This role is paying $80K and is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
The ideal candidate must have strong Yardi experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced real estate environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the general ledger for assigned properties
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Record journal entries and ensure accurate posting of transactions
- Review accounts payable and receivable activity for assigned properties
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Support year-end closing and audit preparation
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the trial balance and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor property cash balances and assist with cash management
- Collaborate with property management teams on financial reporting and operational questions
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within property management or real estate
- Yardi software experience is required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
