Psych NP

Pay: $100-125/hour

Schedule: 20-25 hours per week, flexible shifts but ideally 3x8s
Main hours of operation for administration are Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM but programs are also open on weekends, flexible on days/times

About the Role/Clinics:

  • Two residential programs – one for men & one for women, each with 20 bed capacity
  • Outpatient clinic – collectively sees 80-100 patients
  • Residential programs and outpatient clinic are all located on the same campus
  • Psych NP will have a case load of about 30 patients between both residential programs and outpatient clinic (likely 1 day per inpatient program & 1 day outpatient)
  • No supervisory duties

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years of Psych NP experience  
  • NY State Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
  • Active NP and RN registrations with NYSED
  • Must be DEA certified to prescribe medication
  • Must be enrolled in NYS Medicaid program
  • Valid NPI number
  • Experience with Medication Assistant Treatment strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for initial psychiatric evaluation
  • Prescribes and monitors appropriate medications for patients within the facility
  • Issues medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines
  • Orders laboratory tests, interprets, and explains the test results to patients
  • Documentation of patient visits and progress that are accurate and timely
  • Consistent communication with clinical staff to endure continuum of care and appropriateness for level of care
  • Responsible for the education of clients in the area of psychopharmacology, medication assisted therapies
  • Provides patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits, and reasonable outcome expectations as well as issues related to their diagnoses
  • Other duties as assigned
